About Forest 2 Home
For more than a century, Gutchess Lumber has been the parent firm of Forest 2 Home. The company was founded in 1904 by George Gutchess on a farm in upstate New York. After five generations of the Gutchess family, the company has allegedly evolved into a global timber supplier that produces more than 90 million feet of lumber each year.
Forest 2 Home says that they've gained a profound respect for lumber and the positive impact it has on people's lives over the years. Unlike Gutchess Lumber, Forest 2 Home was intended to help individual woodworkers and artisans across the United States.
Forest 2 Home declares that all of their timber comes from the northeastern United States. They also declare that they work with landowners to build sustainable forest management plans and assist them to achieve their short-term and long-term growth goals. It is believed that they have 30,000 acres of forests in upstate New York and Pennsylvania, where they practice sustainable forestry in all aspects of their operations.
To guarantee a constant and continual supply of healthy, quality hardwood, Forest 2 Home claims to harvest its lands in 15-year or 30-year cycles. Forest 2 Home reveals that it operates five sawmills that adhere to stringent quality control procedures. They also mention that their hardwood is dried in a kiln, which ensures that it dries evenly and is ready to be completed. A qualified lumber inspector is believed to inspect each board at least four times before approving it for ultimate use.

Wood pieces
This is a set of incredibly nice wood pieces that you might use to make indoor furniture like a coffee table, a seat, or a sturdy outdoor gate. The colors are lovely, however for the project I'm working on, I'll be painting over the wood, which is far too lovely to hide and would only need to be stained or varnished. They are too hefty to mount on the wall and require lengthy nails rather than glue. The breadth and length are suitable for coat hangers or vertical shelves, but I would reduce the thickness to half in order to achieve the rustic fencing effect. I'll either retain them or give them to someone who could use a side table next to the couch or a bed
