About MyHeritage

MyHeritage DNA

, a subsidiary of the company, was launched in 2016 to expedite the process of DNA tests. MyHeritage, since its inception, has acquired several genealogy investigation companies such as Pearl Street Software, BackupMyTree, Familylink, and Geni.com. It is also a partner of Family Search for user tracking benefits.

Products and Services

MyHeritage boasts of a database that tracks users' origin through their family trees and important events in history. Their products exist on the web, mobile, and software. As their genealogy interface enables users to track their roots, the Family Tree Builder enables them to build their family tree for future reference too.

The MyHeritage app is available in 42 languages across the world. The app also boasts facial recognition software to enhance users' search. The application uses technology such as Smart Matching, Record Matching, Record Detective, Instant Discoveries, Global Name Translation, and Search Connect. The app also provides the MyHeritage animation feature, which allows users to upload animated pictures of their families on the site.
On the other hand, MyHeritage DNA is a genetic testing device that was launched in 2016. The device is used as a DNA kit to search for ethnic origins.

Payment and Subscription

Although the basic plan is free, a subscription is required to unlock additional content and site features. The subscription can be done monthly or annually. MyHeritage has a free trial period of 14 days before subscription.
The MyHeritage DNA testing kit is, however, not free. The kits are sold on the company's website. The order is shipped within a day, and delivery depends on the location of the buyer. It happens 4-7 business days in the United States and 8-12 business days for standard delivery. Upon the kit delivery, the user has to activate it online.
